(More customer reviews)My yard is shrinking (<4000 sf grass) and I didn't want to have to deal with the hassles of a gas mower anymore.That, and a strong desire to go "green" convinced me to try this mower.Never having tried a reel mower before, I didn't know what to expect.I purposed waited until I had had an entire summer of mowing with this unit before I submitted this evaluation, just to be fair.The first time I used this unit, I thoroughly enjoyed mowing the yard!!The novelty has worn off after approximately 8 uses, but the unit still does a beautiful job on our lawn and I intend to use it forevermore and rid ourselves of our gas mower for good.

I have nothing but high praises for this mower.I do miss the "vacuum" effect of my gas mower in terms of collecting leaves, pine needles, and anything else that may be lying around.I've heard people complain that you have to cut your yard practically every-other-day with a reel mower to keep it from getting bogged down by heavy grass.The worst case that I've found is that I have to go over 1-2 select areas twice to completely cut every blade....and that's after not mowing for 3+ weeks!

Anyways....if you are thinking about switching to a hand powered reel mower, do it!This is a fantastic unit that will do a great job of cutting your lawn and help reduce your carbon footprint as well.

(More customer reviews)I had been looking for this type of grass catcher for quite some time and at the right price. Each time I found it, it was close to $100.00 and so I thought that I'd try second-hand stores and yard sales but never found any and plus, 17" grass catchers were tricky to find. I tried Ebay and still nothing. Finally, I found it on Amazon for half the price of local gardening stores. It was initially out of stock but Amazon informed me by email when they had it availiable. The catcher fits perfectly on my McLane lawnmower and does it's job of grass catching superbly. It seems very durable and I hope that it lasts for a long time. The shipping was very fast and I am very satisfied with my product and would recommend this item and my experience with Amazon to anyone. Thanks.

My only gripe with it is that it's kind of girly looking (as a woman, I feel I can say that). I want my tools to look like tools. My husband and I were joking that the box looks like it's for organic shampoo, not a lawn mower.

(More customer reviews)I can remember mowing the lawn with a push reel mower when I was young. They were heavy and somewhat difficult to push. This Husqvarna 64 mower is the exact opposite: lightweight and easy to push even in 6" tall grass. Our yard is smooth with no rocks or stumps so the Husqvarna 64 mower is a perfect match. It took me less than 10 minutes to assemble the handle and attach it to the blade/reel/wheel assembly. The mower itself is lightweight so lifting it and moving it around it very easy.

The little amount of effort to mow with the Husqvarna 64 truly surprised me. It is easier to push than a conventional mower with no power to the wheels. I actually think I mowed the lawn faster with the Husqvarna 64 than I would with a gas mower because the Husqvarna 64 is so light and easy to maneuver. My wife says that she wouldn't mind using it because it is so easy to push.

Finally the best part was that I could mow the lawn quietly and use no fuel or oil. It is nice to know that a person can put this mower away for 6 months and it will be instantly ready to run. It would be a perfect match for vacation homes, apartments, small houses, or areas where noise is a concern. Only a tiny bit of oil is necessary after using the Husqvarna 64 for an entire season. All in all a perfect purchase!

(More customer reviews)First for a frame of reference, I like and prefer the manicured appearance that only a reel mower can provide, and I have the Brill Lexus battery powered, made in Germany, which I have been using for several years. The Brill is good to excellent in its construction, but it lacks the power to cut through very thick grass when its mechanical bypass device kicks in and the reel stops turning as the mower makes a raucously loud and annoying ratcheting sound.The Brill works well, but my experience is that it lags and can't keep up in the spring when the grass has a greater moisture content.In contrast, the All Power reel mower is made in China, and it's design and materials reflect its cheaper price.Where it excels, is that it is much more powerful than the the Brill.However, like most electric mowers, it will be overwhelmed with grass that is growing rapidly and is full of moisture after several days of Spring showers.As mentioned by other reviewers, the plastic parts are minimally constructed and won't stand up to hard use. You will curse the plastic height adjustment. It's shoddily designed and constructed, but it can be made to work if you are able and willing to fiddle with it and if you don't try to make frequent height adjustments.(Once when I was using it in heavy, thick, damp grass, the adjusting device (rollers) fell completely off and had to be reinstalled.)At that point I got special approval from Amazon to return the mower, but in the end I decided to keep it because it fits a need in the set of tools I use on my lawn, which also includes the largest Neutron rotary mower and the cordless Black and Decker.In other words, except for the smallest of lawns or in a dry climate, this mower is insufficient, but it does make the lawn look manicured and most of the the time has the power to do that.Mowing time is much better than the Brill, probably twice and I have an extra battery for the Brill.Lastly, for some reason the AP mower showers your legs with clippings much worse than the Brill, but I think that is because it is much more powerful and spins faster.

The blades are still sharp.It's lightweight.I can mow at night or in the morning and not worry about the noise bothering anyone.I'm single and I love that I never have to worry about it not starting!It cuts the grass beautifully.Another girlfriend just bought one and is thrilled with hers as well.

The only annoying thing is that if you are carrying the lawn mower for whatever reason, as in I have to lift it from my garage up my cement steps to my yard, the handle sometimes unlatches off the mower part. There should be a clip or something to keep the handle hooked on, but there isn't....

(More customer reviews)I have a small patch of lawn for a front yard, and a large patch for a backyard.I just HATED dragging out the big noisy gas mower for the front.
I am still a bit taken aback at the price on reel mowers... butafter using it, I understand.
This is no flimsy hunk of aluminum andplastic. This is a nice heavy chunk of metal.The blades will stay sharpfor years.It made short work of my lawn and was NOT tedious to pusharound.The reel spins smoothly and is pleasant to listen to... compare itto the din of gas mowers.
I've already had a neighbor ask me where Igot it.
I gave this mower only 4 stars instead of 5 because:
1. The Thandle was difficult to attach to the reel.I had to whack at it with ahammer to get it into the correct position on the reel.
2. It does NOTwork well on taller grass.Anything too tall just gets rolled over.(Incentive to keep the lawn in check.)
But these negatives do notoutwiegh the positives.
Overall, I'm glad I got it!
