Toro Super Recycler Push Mower Briggs & Stratton 6.75 TP (21") #20090 Review

While it commands a premium price, I feel it's certainly warranted. The Super Recycler arrived at my door in excellent condition. The only assembly for my push model (20090) was attaching 2 bolts with washers to secure the handle.

After adding 18oz of Briggs & Stratton oil, and a fresh tank of gas, the mower started on the first pull.I was mowing within 15 minutes of receiving the delivery.I opted for the push mower vs. the self-propelled version because I wanted to have a mower that was light weight and gave me some good exercise. The aluminum deck is very nice and the fit and finish of the mower overall does not disappoint.

I like knowing I have a mower with a full 5 year warranty on it.Toro throws in some nice extras with this mower line including a dedicated support telephone number, yearly blade sharpening (during warranty period) and discounts on future Toro products. So, in my opinion, you're getting your money's worth with the extended warranty alone.

Having owned Xenoy decked Honda push mower in the past, I can say that this Toro is every bit the quality of the Honda product.

Mower arrived promptly.Assembly was easy.Filled with oil and fuel and was cutting in no time.Mower does an outstanding job mulching but.....

What were the engineers who designed the bagging system on this mower thinking? It is clear to me that they have someone mowing their lawns for them.

This bagging system is the WORST I have ever owned. It is inconvenient and awkward.Removing it from the mower ALWAYS leaves a bunch of grass behind because the bag separates from the housing every time.It is a hinged assembly. In addition, emptying the bag is a nightmare because the housing does not completely separate from the bag because of the hinge.

The mower is smooth and powerful but this bagging system is TERRIBLE!!

Toro Recycler Self-Propelled Mower Briggs & Stratton 7.0 TP #20332

The quality of cut is below what I've come to expect from my commercial mower - but hey, this only cost 1/25th of what it did. After a month of owning it and running it near 60 hours, it seems reliable.Starts 75% of the time on the first pull and always by the second. The drive belt chatters some if the grass is juicy and collects on the belt.It does a near flawless job in Tall Fescue, but leaves stragglers and obvious wheel tracks in Kentucky Blue Grass. The bagging system seems to work well.I mainly use it in mulching mode - or, if the grass is tall, discharge mode.It cuts best with the front of the deck set to your intended cutting height and the rear set higher by one notch. And, speaking of tall grass, it does a pretty good job cutting tall grass (6-8") at the highest wheel setting (4" on this mower) compared to other 22" mowers I've had.I tried switching the blade to the Gator #96-607 blade, which doesn't really improve the quality of cut, but it does seem to last longer before it needs sharpening. The Gator also seems to have a slight advantage in clipping dispersal when in discharge mode. The cleaning port does ok to rinse out the bulk of what collects under the deck - but if you wait long after you finish cutting and the grass dries under the deck, all bets are off.Taller clippings collect around the blade shroud and must be removed manually from time to time.Granted, I'm picky - and to get a better cutting 22" mower will likely cost twice as much. All in all, not too bad.

Toro Recycler (20") 159cc 2-in-1 Push Lawn Mower - 20323 Review

Toro Recycler 159cc 2-in-1 Push Lawn Mower - 20323
Average Reviews:

If not, like those of us who have full-time jobs, and you'd actually like to take more than 1 inch off of your lawn each time you mow, you should buy a different mower.
I have owned this mower for only a month and it does indeed cut the lawn, but it does not recycle, nor does it bag.

The "recycler" simply slaps gobs of finely ground/pureed grass onto the walls of the deck until the blade becomes off-balance and begins to grind excessively until the engine starts bogging down.Of course this is terrible for the longevity of engine life.I have had to kill the mower after only 2-3 rows, 25ft long, to let the majority of the mulched/pureed grass drop out of the deck. Then begin again.

The "bagger" does basically the same thing, once the grass is mush, the mower tries to shoot it into the bag through a tiny hole which then gets clogged due to the extreme amounts of moisture and lack of space to actually push the grass to the back of the bag. Yes, I waited for a week of dry, hot summer sun, and still the same result.Plants retain moisture.

I am no nubie to mowing lawns either, I worked for a lawn care company for several years, we used Toro products, I like them, correction, I LIKED them (in regards to this product anyway). But I was let-down after purchasing this model.I am also a motorcycle mechanic so I know what is bad for engines.

If this mower had a side discharge it MAY have been a decent product, but who knows. The manual even claims to have a rear discharge chute/deflector, however the dealer had no clue about it and couldn't even find it in their database.

I'll let you know if that changes anything if they ever find it for me to test out.

Toro 51467 8-Inch 12-Volt Cordless Electric Trimmer Review

Toro 51467 8 inch 12-Volt Cordless Electric Trimmer
Average Reviews:

The Toro cordless trimmer has plenty of power--even after 45 minutes of use.I also own the Black & Decker 18 volt cordless trimmer with 2 removable batteries. The Black and Decker loses its power in less than 20 minutes--sometimes 15.

I store the Toro unplugged, and it holds its charge for over 6 weeks.Try that with the Black & Decker 18 volt cordless trimmer. The Black and Decker loses most of its power in less than 2 weeks.

The Toro doesn't always win over the Black & Decker, however. The B&D is superior for trimming grass along a sidewalk. It's also more ergonomic and weighs much less.I do, however, get tired of replacing the batteries every 15 minutes and having to recharge 2 batteries after every use.

Overall, the Toro is a great value for the money. It is a little heavy, but that's due to the large battery. If you have extremely light trimming to do, especially along a sidewalk, definitely get the Black & Decker 18 volt cordless trimmer. If you have lots of trimming to do and can deal with the extra weight, definitely get the Toro.It runs longer, stronger, and, depending on how long you use it, you don't have to recharge it after every use.

Toro 51599 Ultra 12 amp Variable-Speed Electric Blower/Vacuum with Metal Impeller Review

Toro 51599 Ultra 12 amp Variable-Speed Electric Blower/Vacuum with Metal Impeller
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this Toro electric blow and vac in utter frustration after spending a small fortune on similar gasoline powered products. I use it as a vac several times per week and even daily in the Fall. I found that the very cheap gasoline blow and vacs start falling apart very quickly indeed as the result ofpoor and shoddy design so I moved up to the top of the line, Echo, which appears to be very well made and engineered. My first one, an ES211, did outlast its 2 year warranty, it had a starter assembly and cord replaced under warranty but then just wore out during the third year. The second ES211 lasted 18 months until something broke inside the engine and it wouldn't even rotate. The third one (a $290+tax ES231 heavy duty model) is just over a year old and overheats very quickly, smokes badly, and is melting the plastic grill surrounding the engine.
The dealers lie and tell me that it's my fault and that the problem is lack of lubrication. As a lifelong, now retired, professional mechanical engineer and having owned 2-stroke engines since a teenager I have always used the correct gas/oil mixture in 2-stroke engines including motorcycles of course.
The Toro Ultra Blower and Vac does everything I need. Let's list the advantages. It is amazingly light and doesn't strain your back lugging its bulk plus a heavy bag of leaves around the way a gas powered model does - this is very important and not to be dismissed as you get up in years. It always starts when you turn the knob - you sure can't say that about gasoline powered garden equipment. It converts from a blower to a vac very quickly without needing a screwdriver and undue force - Toro obviously corrected this problem from the prior model. It is very quiet compared with gas models - your neighbors will appreciate this. It doesn't have a spark plug or an air filter that needs frequent attention. It doesn't get dirty, grimy, and oily from gasoline exhaust and leaky carburetors and tubing. You don't have to buy expensive gasoline and oil and be required to mix and find a place to store a separate highly inflammable gas/oil mixture. The Toro has a cast magnesium impeller that handles the occasional twig or stone quite handily. The leaf bag is well designed, it disconnects easily and is a snap to empty. The vac suction and air blast from the blower seems equivalent to the Echo. Last but not least is P R I C E , my Toro was $69.99, at that price I could buy four of them for the price of one Echo ES231.
Now for the only disadvantage I can think of. I use a 100 ft. 13amp. electric cord and reel. You sacrifice some ease of mobility because you have a cord dragging behind you all of the time - nothing in life is perfect I guess.

Product Description:
Powerful and effective, the Toro Ultra 3-in-1 Blower, Vacuum, and Leaf Shredder makes completing yard work fun and easy. With air speeds up to 235 mph, this electric blower nevertheless is lighter, quieter, and cleaner than similar gas blowers. And with a sleek, ergonomical design, it's a tool that is easy to use and will grab your neighbors' attention.
The Toro Ultra 3-in-1 Blower, Vacuum, and Leaf Shredder:

Is electric so it is lighter, quieter, and cleaner than similar gas blower.
    Has a variable speed motor.
Features a metal impeller for mulching debris.

Convert from blower to vacuum without tools.

The metal impeller shreds leaves into a mulch.

The impeller can reduce up to 16 bags' worth of waste to one bag. Match the Power to the Task for Better Results
Tackle big clean-up jobs the right way with this powerful blower vac. A variable speed 12 Amp motor lets you select from an infinite variety of speeds between 112 mph and 235 mph. This means that you can use low speeds to clear off hard surfaces and clean up tight areas without making a mess and without sacrificing the blower's high-speed functionality.
Air Speed and Air Volume to Get Yard Jobs Done
Unlike some manufacturers, who simply reduce the size of their blower nozzles to achieve higher air speed ratings without increasing the practical value of their tools, Toro gives this blower vac the ability to balance between air speed (measured in mph) and air volume (measured in cfm) to ensure maximum power and performance. This Ultra blower vac offers air speeds up to 235 mph and air volume up to 255 cfm, allowing you to move a substantial volume of leaves and debris with ease.
3-in-1 Versatility Makes Managing Tasks Easy
A convenient quick-release latch lets you convert your blower into a vacuum in seconds without any tools, while a metal impeller makes it easy to mulch debris.
The magnesium serrated metal blades on the impeller shred leaves and other unwanted debris into a fine mulch that you can use around your lawn and garden, saving money and recycling important nutrients. It also makes it easy to dispose of unwanted yard waste, since the impeller can reduce 16 bags' worth of leaves to one bag.
Clean and Efficient with Electric Power
Compared with gas blowers, electric blowers are quieter, more eco-friendly, and require less maintenance. They start up instantly without requiring you to master a finicky pull cord. There's no messy gas-oil mixture to worry about, and you don't have to contend with noxious fumes to get a job done.
This high-powered blower also weighs in at a very manageable 7.5 pounds, making it easy on your back.
This blower/vac is backed by a full two-year warranty.
What's in the Box
Power unit, blower tubes, vac tubes, vac bag, and operators manual.

Even a large yard is easy to clean up with this blower.
